Description

City of Lincoln, North Kesteven District, South Holland District and South Kesteven District Councils have accepted Syrian refugee families within their authority areas. The Councils are seeking to enter into contract with a suitable Supplier for the provision of Refugee Resettlement Support Services which includes (but is not limited to): (1) Welcoming new arrivals at the airport and providing welcome packs on arrival at the airport and the accommodation (2) Liaising with the Authority to deliver the Biometric Residence Permits following arrival (3) Developing and auctioning support plans for the families and individuals (4) Providing a dedicated source of advice, guidance, information, signposting, support and advocacy (5) Managing the expectations of the family to ensure they do not become reliant on either the local Authority or the Support Worker (6) Visiting families and accompanying them to appointments, drop in / training sessions, etc., in order to: (a) Assist with registering for benefits and services and signposting to other advice, information and agencies (b) Register with local nurseries, schools or colleges, English Language and Literacy classes and other appropriate training (c) Register with local GP's and other healthcare providers in line with any identified medical or mental health needs (d) Attend local Job Centre Plus appointments for benefit assessments and access to employment (e) Help with opening a bank account - ensuring people know their rights and are able to manage their finances (f) Where required, help with understanding tenancy agreements and addressing any problems (some Authorities may wish to provide this element themselves) (g) Help set up accounts for utilities (h) Show them around their new local area, helping them get to grips with public transport, buy familiar food, find their local library, places of worship and other community facilities and volunteering opportunities (i) Support with budgeting, wellbeing, skills development and employment readiness (j) Take active steps to reduce isolation, ensure integration and connecting people to their communities and encouraging local support networks (k) Help local communities and services to become refugee-friendly (l) Develop support plans for families and individuals (m) Help with asylum and immigration issues (7) Ensuring / confirming that other agencies interacting with the refugee have made telephone interpretation services available for appointments, etc. (8) Provide updates on the progress of families and individuals to the local Authority Further information is available via the ProContract system https://procontract.due-north.com/Advert?advertId=d3325d7a-e232-ea11-80fc-005056b64545
