Brief Description of Requirement

An exciting update is happening at the moment to our oldest and most powerful laser, Vulcan. Vulcan's Target Area Petawatt (TAP) is going to have a new beamline installed that will allow us to conduct unique imaging and pump-probe experiments. This new beamline will be capable of running independently of and combined with the other beams in Vulcan.

To achieve this, the building works required will include:

• Remodelling of an existing two- storey space by creating a new First Floor storage area, accessible from an existing First Floor room. This will have its structure built in timber, with traditional wall and floor claddings;

• The enlargement of an existing clean-room by the removal of an existing non-loadbearing demountable metal partitioning system. This will also entail the removal of a number of existing electrical services, as well as a small amount of mechanical services;

• The separation of the two-storey space from the newly enlarged clean-room via conventional stud partitioning, with incorporated doorway;

• Remodelling works to existing floor trenches and voids, including filling in/capping in areas, and the extension of one trench;

• The creation of an enclosed entrance lobby, via traditional stud walling techniques.

Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement. All attachments can be found with the RFx attachments tab within the Emptoris System.

This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the ITQ document.
