Description

SDNPA would like to procure an enterprise wide managed IaaS comprising of a thin client environment for approximately 185 users (circa 120 concurrent network logins) based at offices located in the South Downs National Park.

SDNPA's standard business hours are 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays).

SDNPA requires a solution that provides a secure, highly available and efficient network to run their applications and to store and manage their data.

Nearly all of SDNPA's business applications are currently accessed via, or run on, servers remotely located at the current supplier's data centre and SDNPA's users access the environment using remote desktop technology.

The current remote environment is built up from a number of virtualised servers (circa 20) and these include a 'farm' of load-balanced remote desktop servers; an Exchange server; four webservers; a file server; a print server; a SQL server and three application servers.

The total disk space usage over all the remotely hosted servers is currently around 5 TB.

All hardware components of the contracted IaaS solution sited within the data centre are to remain the property of the successful bidder. Effectively SDNPA would like to procure a consumption based model, which is flexible and scalable to meet any increase in resources required over the life of the contract.

SDNPA has 13 Cisco switches installed at their offices - these are the property of SDNPA.

The proposed solution must include Wi-Fi at all SDNPA offices. The Cisco wireless access points and the controller currently in place are the property of SDNPA.

All services are to be delivered within agreed service levels with service credits being given for any significant service level breaches.

All incidents, faults and service requests are to be recorded in the bidder's ITIL compliant Service Desk system.

Data lines to each of SDNPA's current offices are already in place and are not within the scope of this procurement.

Note that SDNPA is also inviting tenders for a Desk Side Support Service to deliver 1st and 2nd line support to its users across a number of different technologies at its offices in the South Downs National Park. The Desk Side Support Service procurement is separate but is running in tandem to the IaaS procurement.
