Description

We are delighted to be able to offer organisations the chance to bid for a contract to support Barking and Dagenham to grow the local green economy. We are looking for an expert research organisation or individual to help us with this piece of research, the purpose of which is to:

1. Support the borough of Barking and Dagenham to develop an ambitious, interventionist action plan to nurture and grow a viable, sustainable and large scale green industry sector in our borough as part of our economic development plans for the next decade and beyond.

2. Identify specific opportunities for the Council to shape and grow the green economy, based on an understanding of the local context, insights into the needs of potential sectors and supply chains, and information about the volume and nature of jobs associated with different options.

This contract is worth up to £40,000 (including VAT).

We are committed to ensuring that no one is left behind in Barking & Dagenham, and this contract will form part of the realisation of the council's wider ambition to reduce unemployment, inactivity and low pay, grow the number of businesses offering well paid, well skilled in the borough, and reduce carbon emissions.

If you would like more information about this opportunity please contact Tess Lanning, Head of Enterprise and Employment Strategy, via email to: tess.lanning@lbbd.gov.uk.

Please note, the deadline for any questions about this Tender opportunity is 5pm on Tuesday 15th February 2022, with a submission deadline of 23.59 on Friday 18th February.
