Description

PHE via a single tender action (STA) has purchased discounted reagents from Oxford university that cannot be used for their intended purpose due to customs delays. Reagents procured through this route will preserve the supply purchased under the current contract pricing and avoid 5 %cost increases due for future purchases as the existing call off orders have been completed.
PHE received a further discount to cover the cost of VAT payable on these items.
As a consequence, this purchase represents good value for PHE who achieve a saving of 20% plus cost avoidance of 5%. and for Oxford University who mitigate potential losses as a collaborating partner.
Thus depicting value for money on the tax payers contribution on this one off purchase.
