Description
Acivico Building Consultancy Ltd invites contractors to be considered to receive tender documentation for the demolition, site clearance and associated works to the Birmingham Wholesale Markets, Pershore Street, Birmingham, B5 6UN.

The former Wholesale Market Site is being relocated to Aston and the structures are no longer fit for purpose. The site is earmarked for redevelopment, therefore identifies the need for safe demolition and site clearance. Several adjacent buildings on site and facilities will remain operational during the works and care and consideration must be given to the site users and method of demolition to ensure the success of the project. The works will also require service disconnections, asbestos survey and removal works, party wall accommodation works and fridge decommissioning works. The site is heavily populated with a colony of gulls and the contractor must pay particular attention to the bird survey and
recommendation report. The demolition site must be well secured by use of appropriate fencing during and at the end of the contract works. Contractors wishing to tender for this contract must have 3 years of audited accounts showing a minimum annual average turnover of £1.5 million
The contractor must provide suitably trained workforce and experience/knowledge of works required to be undertaken. The contractor will be responsible for providing their own power, water and welfare to undertake this work.
A Public/Product liability insurance of £5 million and Employers Liability Insurance of £10 million must be provided.
The contract will be let using a JCT Intermediate Building Form of Contract 2011, issued by the Joint Contracts Tribunal with Birmingham City Council amendments.
It is anticipated the works will commence in March 2017 and be completed by October 2017. The successful contractor will need to demonstrate their ability to provide the service required, confirmation of conforming to demolition, asbestos and other relevant health and safety legislation, equalities, business charter and social value policy and financial stability.
The estimated value of the works is in the region of £700k.
Tender documents must be submitted by 12 noon, Friday 27th January 2017.
Tenders submitted after this time will not be considered. Contractors whose tender is under consideration may be required to submit further documentation in support of their tender. This documentation will be called for and should be provided within 7 days of the request.
An open afternoon to view the buildings and site will take place on Monday 19th December 2016 from 12 noon till 4pm.
