Description
Brighton and Hove City Council is developing this former play area for 36 new council homes and community space as part of its New Homes for Neighbourhoods initiative. The residential is a mix if one, two and three bed flats delivered over two blocks, one at four storeys and one at five storeys with bio-solar green roof, a flexible community space and limited on-site car parking provision at ground floor level, landscaping, and highways alterations. The scheme is designed to meet energy and water efficiency targets set out in the RIBA 2030 challenge to deliver good quality, sustainable homes, let and managed by the council. The site is located at the north end of the Whitehawk Estate, within a densely populated area, and borders the Racehill Community Orchard to the east.
