Description

The aim of the project is to establish scalable solution processing of active materials in inorganic thin-film solar cells. The work programme tackles the processing of Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 and CuIn(S,Se)2 absorbers as well as buffer layers requires for charge extraction under solar irradiation.

The Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) tool is pivotal in the engineering of the interface between absorber and buffer layers. The tool enables constructing the absorber/buffer junction atom by atom. This is key towards maximising the output voltage of the devices.
