Description

The Greater Manchester Deputy Mayor for policing seeks to commission the Greater Manchester Victim Service, a service to help and support people impacted by crime to cope and recover from their experience. This service will be available to all victims of crime, regardless of whether the crime has been reported to the Police or not.

The intended contract commencement date is 1st October 2022.

Victim's needs, wishes and feelings will be at the heart of service delivery. The service will provide information, advice, guidance, signposting and one to one support to victims of crime as well as make onward referrals to specialist agencies such as domestic abuse, hate crime and sexual abuse. We are also keen to develop our vision for digital innovation to ensure that victims have access to the information and support they need at the right time and are empowered in their journey to recover from the impact of crime.

The new service will be a 'Hybrid Model' and be collocated with colleagues from Greater Manchester Police. This model of collaboration is an integral part of the future of Greater Manchester Victim Services so it is important that the future providers can actively support this principle, particularly their approach to working in partnership with other providers operating within the criminal justice arena.

The Deputy Mayor is planning on holding an online market engagement event on the 18th February 2022 at 2pm to 4pm.

This event will take place via Microsoft Teams and there will be an opportunity to book 1-2-1 sessions for individual suppliers during the week commencing 21st February 2022.

The aim of the market engagement day will be to outline the Combined Authority's aspiration for the new service and to provide potential bidders with an outline of the service specification. It will also be an opportunity to answer any questions in relation to the requirement and procurement process, before the formal tender is launched.
