Description

Hackney Council is seeking a single experienced provider to deliver a furniture collection and reuse service for Hackney Residents. Experienced firms are invited to submit tenders through an Open (1 stage) tender process.

This furniture collection and reuse service aims to collect a minimum of 60 tonnes per annum with a maximum of 1,400 collections per year. This service is part of the Council's commitment to the local circular economy and to provide an alternative solution for reusable items instead of residents using the Council's bulky waste collection. It aims to increase reuse tonnages by building on the service that has been provided to residents since 2005.

The term of the contract will be 24 months (Nov 2019 - Nov 2021) with the option to extend the contract annually, by up to a maximum of two further years (until Nov 2023), subject to satisfactory performance by the Provider and the Council's needs and funding.
