Description
North Star Housing Group and Castles and Coasts wish to commission a framework for the provision of legal services from independent firms of solicitors in the private sector to support the delivery of a range of housing related activities.
It is estimated that the contract value is likely to be around £600k per annum with an overall contract value of around £3m over the full term of this contract including any extensions. This figure is an estimate only and may be exceeded. However, no guarantee is given as to any level of business to be awarded through the framework.
North Star is acting as lead contracting authority in this exercise. There is also the possibility of membership of the framework extending to other housing associations in the North of England.
The requirement will be offered across three main areas as follows:
Area 1 - Property Transactions, Development and Construction.
To include all types of conveyancing and non-contentious housing, proprietor and tenant law as well as to include all construction contracts or development agreements. Also, to include support with disrepair claims and Health and Safety matters
Area 2 - Housing Management and Dispute Resolution
To include all types of housing litigation, dilapidations, court possessions and general contentious work
Area 3 - Corporate and Commercial
To include governance, employment, pensions, treasury loans and finance.
Interested parties do not have to express interest in all areas. The consortium expects to award multiple bidders to cover each area but also reserves the right to not make any award in respect of any of the areas.
