Description

Leicestershire County Council commissions domiciliary care services in partnership with East Leicestershire and Rutland CCG and West Leicestershire CCG to meet the needs of the resident population of Leicestershire.
A procurement exercise was undertaken during 2016/17 to procure new services under the 'Help to Live at Home' tender process with the intention of securing lead provider contracts within 18 lots covering the County of Leicestershire.
Following the initial procurement process, three lots remain to be allocated to lead providers. A further procurement process has commenced in order to secure coverage for these lots.
The mobilisation of the new providers in each lot has been and continues to be challenging due to limited capacity in the sector and concerns regarding the quality of provision in some areas.
The Council and its commissioning partners wish to consider how the future domiciliary care market can be fully developed to meet the health and care needs of the local population.
