Description
Fresh, Smoke Free North East and Balance the North East Alcohol Office are Public Health funded organisations based in the North East of England. Their respective remits are to reduce the harm caused by tobacco and alcohol amongst their local population using a multi-strand approach based on best national and international evidence.
A key element of their work and priority of local funders is the delivery of all year round news and social media activity to ensure topical issues and messages to foster behaviour change are in the public eye all year round on the channels that people see, read and hear, providing a highly cost effective return on investment. This also involves building support for measures to reduce smoking and harmful drinking, and engaging and motivating key partners.
While the exact scope of work from month to month may need to be flexible, central to the offering will be providing a core press office function, supporting writing and localisation of press releases with figures, case studies and spokespeople, handling time sensitive media enquiries, looking for new champions and evaluating reach and return on investment.
The contract is for 12 months with the option to extend for a further four periods of 12 months if funding is available.
