Description

Kilnbridge have secured the HS2 Old Oak Common Station Works Package WP13.1-Urban Realm Civils, Utilities and Earthworks. Part of this scope requires the installation of boundary perimeter weld mesh security fencing, vehicular and pedestrian Gates.

Works include concrete foundations, embedded cast-in anchorages, fence posts, fence panels, gate posts, gates, provision for earthing connections and GRP gapped sections.

Subcontractor is responsible for developing the Contractors Detailed Design to Design for Construction & Manufacturing. The Subcontractor shall be responsible for providing their own design for construction drawings. The anchorages and foundations are a Contractors Design Portion (CPD) and suppliers will need to demonstrate the ability to carry out design and detailing functions and follow the design procedure in accordance with HS2 and BBVS procedures.

The fencing is both installed in the ground and onto reinforced concrete perimeter walls. Fence panels are typically at 2.440 c/c. Heights vary between 0.9m and 3m. Refer to layout drawing 1CP02-BVS_WSP-LS-DPL-SS07_SL13-12230.
There is an interface with both Network Rail and Transport for London assets on the boundary and part of the works will require working under controlled working methodology where applicable. To the North the boundary with TfL Elisabeth line Depot in part will interface with overhead lines. Experience of working in the rail environment, ability to develop methodology collaboratively around this key interface and produce works package plans and operate in a rail environment is a prerequisite of being considered for these works.

Installation is to be carried out over a 3 year period commencing in Q1 2025 and completing in late Q3 2028. Multiple visits will be required over this period.

Programme - Further details on the construction package will be shared at PQQ (Pre-Qualification Questionnaire).
