Description

The woodland management works will enhance over 20 hectares of green space comprising 12 woodlands made more accessible to local people.

It is also part funded by Greening the Grey/Wildlife Ways (part European Regional Development Fund, part DfT NPIF funding). The plans have received Forestry Commission licence. The works form part of Capital programme of works under Wildlife Ways and Small Habitats Grant.

The contract comprises landscape and maintenance operations which includes selective felling, thinning, coppicing and woodland management operations. Collection/transportation of felled materials to be processed on site (chipped/mulched and spread, or stacking of cord wood etc.), and collection/transportation of felled materials (retained by the contractor) to be removed from site (as applicable). Consideration should be given to protecting the environment during the works as advised in Forestry Commission Technical Note 011.

Tenderers should note that elements of the Works are partially funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
These works form part of the Wildlife Ways project to enhance biodiversity with budget part funded by European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Greening the Grey.
On all branding and publicity material the ERDF logo should be displayed; details on placement etc. would be given on award of tender.
