Description

Direct Payment Pre tender Market Engagement

Southampton City Council has been working with key stakeholders to design a new Direct Payment support service. The service will, if approved, have many familiar elements including

• host and facilitate a Personal Assistant in Care and Support (PA) online platform (secured via SCC), including recruitment of PAs
• provide more specialised information, advice and support (above that available in mainstream Advice Information and Guidance (AIG) services) to people needing additional assistance to manage a Direct Payment (DP) and / or help with PA employment issues; and
• help with PA employment issues

In addition the service will be integral to the development, hosting and facilitation of a new Support Planning and Brokerage (SPB) element, including an online platform and recruitment of services onto the platform.

We are currently obtaining the necessary approvals to put out a tender for this service, which will attract an annual budget in the region of £130,000 per annum. However, mindful if approvals are given we will be working to very tight timescales to secure a service to start from 1 April 2020.
