RELIEF SUPPORT CARETAKING SERVICE
B4Schools Ltd would like to receive expressions of interest from contractors and or suppliers who can provide all or some of the Relief Caretaking services our members have identified ranging from short notice unplanned/planned opening and closing of the school, out of hours' emergency response and key holding to all day cover.
B4Schools Ltd are seeking to engage with the market to try and source a suitable supplier for our members.
There are currently 20 member schools that have shown an interest in having access to a relief caretaking support service.
The initial term of contract would be for one year with a nominal estimated initial value of GBP20,000 (GBP1,000 per member school).
Overview and Notes
Each of the above service type would have a slightly different specification for each member according to need.
Suppliers will need to demonstrate some knowledge and understanding of school site management, security and tenure.
Suppliers will have to demonstrate appropriate insurance to include all aspects of key holding, security and tenure of premises and all aspects of the integrated service to both employees, staff, pupils and visitors therein.
Suppliers will need to provide comparative references/referees.
Any staff to be deployed to the school(s) will need to have as a minimum:
- An enhanced current DBS clearance.
- Be self-motivated and fit for the role.
- Appropriate training i.e.:
a) Health and safety
b) Lone working
c) Cleaning
d) First Aid
e) Manual handling
f) COSHH
School members will be required to provide appropriate information to assist the supplier in providing the service to include but not exhaustive: -
- Floor plan of the school
- Site and grounds plan.
- Key and lock data
- Fire Plans
- Alarm details and alarm points
- Unlock /Lock checklist procedures
- Authorisations, policies and approvals in the securing and making safe premises.
- Point of contact in an emergency.
