Description

The Authority has identified a requirement for the provision of procedural instrument flying (PIF) training for Army, rotary wing, qualified pilots undergoing a AS365 N3 Dauphin conversion to type course. The requirement is estimated to commence from 1 June 2017 until 31 January 2020, with an optional 2 x 1 year contract extensions (or parts thereof) until 2022.

The Contractor must be a recognised Civilian Aviation Authority (CAA) Approved Training Organisation and registered on the CAA Training Organisation List. Instructors must have a current CAA license and recent instructional experience. All tasks are to be carried out in accordance with Air Publications, Aircraft Document Set (where applicable) and Health and Safety regulations.

The Contractor will be responsible for delivering courses to a maximum of 8 personnel per annum and responsibilities include

- Provision of any pre-course information,
- Delivery of course material and instruction in English.
- All training facilities, resources, student material and training aids.
- A suitable synthetic training device; must be a N3 or similar. Army Aviation Standards (AAvn Stds) are to approve the device.
- Training conducted in representative UK airspace and airfields.
- Provision of instructed PIF sorties
- The delivery of ground-school and a minimum of 15 instructed flying hours per pilot package
- Conduct a sortie debrief with the student.
- Provide hard and soft copies of course reports for each student.
