Description

The Exeter Nightingale Community Diagnostic Centre centres on the reconfiguration of the existing Buttercup Ward at the Exeter Nightingale hospital to provide an extension to the existing physiological measurements service. The Buttercup Ward was one of five wards created during the Covid-19 pandemic to provide a Covid escalation facility, latterly converted to an elective and diagnostic centre. The works comprise the reconfiguration of existing layouts to better suit the intended function, together with works to better suit patient flow (and mechanical and electrical services modifications). The Trust require the facility to be operational within a constrained programme. In order to best achieve this, the project will follow a two-stage method of procurement, with the Trust seeking initially to engage a contractor under a preconstruction services agreement to work alongside the consultant team to help define the scope, and develop the design for the scheme ahead of entering into Contract. Whilst it will be confirmed as part of this exercise, the anticipated construction cost is expected to be in the region of £1.2m - £1.5m (excluding VAT).
