The aim of the next phase of the A1 East of England Study is to explore the viability of dividing the proposed improvements to the route into smaller, individual interventions. In particular, the middle section of the A1 should be assessed to explore whether there is more of a case for upgrading this section of the route than there was to upgrade the route in its entirety.
