Description
Kresen Kernow will bring together the largest collection of archives, rare books, photographs and recordings about Cornwall in a permanent, purpose-built home in the new archive centre at the former Redruth Brewery site.
Cornwall Council requires detailed and costed proposals for the packaging, packing, transportation, unpacking and re-shelving of its collections from their two locations into preordained areas of the new strong room shelving in Kresen Kernow and the public reading area.
Collections are currently housed in Cornwall Record Office, Truro and the Cornish Studies Library, Redruth.
The work is to be completed between the 8 week period 4th February and 29th March 2019.
Site Visits
In addition, as a key part of this procurement process, any prospective tenderer will, at their own cost and risk, be expected to attend, or at least be represented at, the designated Provider Information Events to be held at the following locations on Wednesday 5 December 2018:-
09:00 Location 1 Cornwall Record Office, Old County Hall, Treyew Road, Truro, TR1 3AY
12:00 Location 2 Cornish Studies Library, Alma Place, Redruth, TR15 2AT
14:30 Location 3 Kresen Kernow, Little Vauxhall, Redruth, TR15 1AS
These will be strictly escorted visits around the sites themselves, (Visitors should be able to access parking facilities in close proximity to the respective sites) and will be the ONLY opportunity for potential bidders to familiarize themselves with local conditions, any potential operational constraints and ask any questions of the Archive Services Manager and their support colleagues.
Please use the Portal Messaging system to confirm the attendance and the names and job titles of those anticipated to be in attendance but due to the limited space in many areas of the existing buildings we need to limit the numbers to no more than 2 personnel per organisation. The main meeting point contact for assembly at all locations will be as follows: Sally Weston, Archive Services Manager. Only if your company or its representative (s) is unable to attend at the last minute or unavoidably detained please advise Sally Weston, via either of the following means, as soon as possible: Telephone: 01872 323127 or Email: sally.weston@cornwall.gov.uk
