Market Engagement - Wheelchair Services for NHS Herts Valleys (HVCCG) and NHS East and North Hertfordshire (ENHCCG) Clinical Commissioning Groups
NHS Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit (AGCSU) on behalf of the Commissioners, NHS Herts Valleys Clinical Commissioning Group (HVCCG) (Lead Commissioner) and NHS East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group (ENHCCG), would like to invite potential Bidders and interested parties to attend a virtual 'Market Engagement Event'. The purpose of this event will be to progress the commissioning project paused, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, for Wheelchair Services, for the registered populations of the Commissioners.
To date the commissioners have identified the following as some of the key attributes which will be required of the service:
• Improve the pace of delivery of children's and adults' wheelchairs.
• A focus on continuous service improvement. The Provider will proactively identify opportunities to improve the quality, speed and efficiency of the service. They will also be responsive to issues and challenges faced, addressing them with solutions.
• Demonstrate innovative and efficient stock control and procurement of wheelchairs, accessories, parts, and bespoke seating to minimise the time it takes to provide a Service User with their wheelchair.
• Implement a step change in patient choice and control, through the articulation of a clear NHS offer and eligibility criteria, the mainstreaming of Personal Wheelchair Budgets, service user recorded outcome measures, and consistent use of Service User engagement and feedback.
• Ensure that the right data is captured, in the right way and at the right time, so that the service and Commissioners can identify issues early and implement timely responses to them.
• Use of learnings from the COVID-19 pandemic to improve wheelchair services and outcomes for service users.
