Description
There have been previous market engagement events held over the last 3 months hosted by the Transforming Care Partnership that have focused on support and commissioning arrangements for individuals with a Learning Disability, or Autism and behaviours that challenge.
Commissioners have found the dialogue and feedback received to be of great use in considering how we take forward our future market strategy and service design for these individuals.
Commissioners are now looking to take this work forwards, and would like representatives from providers to join us for a further engagement event which is taking place on Monday 20 May 2019, 09:00-16:00 (with lunch provided) at Buckfast Abbey, Northwood Lane, Buckfastleigh, Devon, TQ11 0EG
This event will be split into two sessions:
1) Morning Session
This will be a follow-up to the previous market events with a focus on seeking your engagement and involvement in shaping a service model and service specification for the 34 individuals within the TCP cohort for whom a package of care will be required on their return to Devon. This will build on your feedback to date and consider the full pathway from assessment through referral and ongoing service delivery/support.
One of the main messages we have clearly heard from you to date is that we simplify systems and design an approach that enables you to work with us in a much more open and collaborative way. We have identified that in order to deliver the changes you have asked for we will likely need to undertake a formal procurement, and therefore we have asked the South, Central and West Commissioning Support Unit to attend this session, and provide some detail on how this is may be taken forwards.
2) Afternoon Session
This session will focus on a programme of work being delivered jointly between the Torbay Integrated Care Organisation and Devon County Council who are working collaboratively across Torbay and South Devon to further develop the service offer available to people who have a learning disability. Building on the learning from research, tried and tested models and provider feedback, we want to build on good practice to continue to improve the life experience of people who access services. We believe that the best way of achieving this is to work in partnership with you as a group of providers and invite you to co-design with us.
We are considering building extra capacity to support you in achieving these aspirations and this session will be an opportunity for you to join us to talk through our proposal and to seek nominations to act as provider representative on our steering group.
