Description
The Royal Greenwich invites Bids from suitably qualified and experienced economic operators to provide all works contained with the Contract. This contract is to deliver the street lighting LED lamp and column replacement, inspection, maintenance, repair, improvement, and new works in the Royal Borough and within the public highway, parks and housing estates.
The Contract Period will be for 6 years from the Commencement Date subject to earlier termination in whole or in part (howsoever occurring) with an option, by joint agreement, to extend the Contract for a period or periods of one, two, three or four years to a maximum of 10 years subject to, but not limited to, satisfactory performance, availability of funding and Council approval.
The anticipated commencement date for the contract is 1 April 2021.
The nature and the quantity of the service required are outlined in the tender document which can be accessed via the weblink address provided in section I.3) above.
The Contract includes, but is not limited to, street lighting and electrical highway works (and within parks and housing estates) in the Royal Borough of Greenwich including:
LED lamp and column replacement works.
Inspection, supply, maintenance, improvement and repair to:
Street Lighting and associated equipment;
Illuminated signs;
Non-illuminated traffic signs.
Electrical connections, disconnections and transfers.
Works to other electrified highway assets.
Works within the public highway, housing estates, parks and other public spaces.
Emergency response and call-out service.
Prepare, install, maintain, remove and store festive decorations for a range of events in the Royal Greenwich.
Associated civil engineering work.

The Royal Borough of Greenwich's view is that the provisions of the UK's Transfer of Undertaking (Protection of Employment) Regulations (referred to as TUPE) apply. Those economic operators tendering will therefore need to demonstrate to the Contracting Authority that their bid complies with the TUPE Regulations.
