Description
NWL CCG requires high quality, value for money elective care services in accordance with good clinical practice in respect of clinical services and, in addition, good industry practice in respect of services other than clinical services. The population to be covered should include all patients registered with a GP practice for which the NWL CCG is the responsible commissioner.
The provider will provide acute capacity ensuring delivery of the agreed national operating standards for referral-to-treatment times and agreed referral-to-treat waiting times.
Key objectives of the service to meet the needs of users include:
- To improve upon elective care services clinical pathways.
- To maintain levels of capacity of elective care services for NHS patients.
- To provide the NHS patient with the choice of a named consultant-led team for elective care where clinically appropriate.
- To provide access to a range of elective care services thereby improving NHS patients' free choice of provider and control over their care and treatment.
The CCG currently has a contract in place with BMI/Circle Healthcare Limited and other independent sector providers to provide the services. The term of this contract is 12 months, 1st April 2021 - 31st March 2022 (value: £5,898,850.00), during which time the CCG will review the needs of the service users and consider how (if relevant) it needs to further integrate the services (currently working with NHS secondary care providers).
NWL CCG is looking to possibly tender the opportunity in the future and invites all capable providers to indicate their interest. The purpose of this notice is to be transparent about the CCG's intentions and to invite anyone interested in delivering the services described above to contact us by 4th March 2022.
During 2022, it is anticipated that NWL CCG will be succeeded by an Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any future contract and/or procurement opportunity may therefore be in the name of the ICB.
