Description
Research project into Anti-Racism for English & Exams
This research consultancy is a specific piece of work commissioned by the Anti-Racism Task Force and the Group for E&E Anti-Racism Research within the British Council's English and Exams (E&E) Strategic Business Unit, on behalf of the E&E Senior Leadership Team. The English and Exams Business Unit (SBU) leads on the British Council's work in Teaching and Assessment. It is a global business unit, with a team of 7000 staff based in many locations globally, with around 2% based in the UK. Our work is financed exclusively through business to consumer (B2C) paid services and some business to business (B2B) contracts. The research consultancy is being commissioned in order to provide evidence and an action plan with prioritised recommendations for the English and Exams SBU. These actions will aim to increase the representation of minority ethnic staff at senior levels across its regions of operation and to address issues of representation and organisational culture which impact negatively on staff. The areas to be investigated by the research project include views and experiences of working at the British Council in general, individual and organisational barriers to progression and typical progression pathways through the unit. It will also include gathering baseline demographic data and a review of existing reports and findings.
The duration of the project is 3 January to 3 May 2022.
