Description

The successful Supplier will be required to provide cleaning services for Onslow St Audrey's School.

This is an exciting time in the history of Onslow St Audrey's School. We are about to begin a significant, multi-million-pound refurbishment and building programme of our sports, science, business and ICT, sixth form and library facilities. This is due to a significant increase in the popularity of the school with local parents and students, as well as greater support for the school shown by Hertfordshire County Council and local residents. Whilst this increase in size will help broaden and strengthen the work we do, we maintain a small school 'family' feel in how we work.

Our recent Ofsted report shows many strengths including how well behaved our students are and how successful our Sixth Form is. That our students are able to achieve the highest grades in all their subjects indicates that for the students in our care we successfully help them realise their potential.
The tender project is seeking to appoint a Supplier whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the school facilities. The high quality service levels proposed should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.

The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful Supplier to operate to at all times is being able to provide a school that is fit-for-purpose and that the Supplier is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the tender specification.

The contract being tendered is for three plus two years in duration from 1.4.2018 until 31.3.2021 and will be fixed price in nature, with the Supplier invoicing the Client for one-twelfth of the annual cost on a monthly basis.

It should be noted that the successful Supplier will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation; new equipment; and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.

At present the cleaning staff structure is:

- 1 non-working cleaning supervisor,

- 10 cleaning operatives,

- A cleaner present in school during the day,

- The current incumbent is Evergreen Facilities Services,

- No members of the incumbent cleaning staff are members of the LGPS.

The value of the current contract is 74 741.04 GBP per annum.
