Description

The Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) is the government's centre of expertise for infrastructure and major projects, sitting at the heart of government and reporting to the Cabinet Office and HM Treasury (www.gov.uk/IPA).

The IPA was established in 2016 following the merger of the Major Projects Authority (MPA) and Infrastructure UK (IUK). Prior to this, IUK was located within HM Treasury, transferring to the Cabinet Office in April 2016 when it became part of the IPA.

IUK itself was formed in 2010 following the transfer of a public private partnership (Partnerships UK - PUK) into HM Treasury. As part of the terms of these transfers TUPE was applied to certain members of staff.

Core IPA teams include experts in infrastructure, project delivery and project finance who work with government departments and industry.

In 2016, following the merger of the MPA and IUK, the original PUK/IUK, TUPE undertakings transferred to the Cabinet Office, including the brokerage contract and insured policies.

The current contract expires 31st October 2017 and Cabinet Office are seeking to source the brokerage contract and insured policies which should commence on 1st November 2017; Cabinet Office is seeking to invite tenders for the brokerage service and the insurance policies via an open market competition. The existing policies are all closed schemes, with the exception of the private medical element where new family members can be added

The requirements of each insurance policy are set out in Annexes A - D and associated Appendices within this document as outlined within the Appendix B "Statement of Requirement" document.
