Description

The UCL estate comprises a substantial portfolio of circa 220 premises which vary in asset type, use and property deed/leasehold arrangements. Circa 150 premises were constructed pre-2000, where UCL are the named duty holder.

There are currently circa 10,000 known ACMs on these premises being managed by UCL. In addition, there is an expansive and complex sub-basement tunnel network which is below the main campus area: Bloomsbury.

UCL is issuing a short Request for Information to see views on our approach to market to procure Asbestos Consultancy & Asbestos Removal services in late 2019, with a contract start date of June 2020.

The anticipated value of the contract(s) for asbestos surveying, re-inspections, asbestos removal project management and analytical response is circa £500,000+ per annum.

There is a site wide asbestos removal project which would require development, stakeholder interfacing, project coordination, procurement support, mobilisation, project management, analytical monitoring, and completion documentation. It is likely to span 100+ premises and a 5 years programme. UCL would aim to spend an additional £2m per annum over 5 years.
