Description

The University is currently tendering for the construction and delivery of a Robot Machining Cell:

The key features of the cell are:

Construction of a robotic cell with parallel kinematic platform and machining spindle mounted on an articulated robot. The robot has an interchangeable head/end effector to facilitate three main functions 1) machining spindle, 2) hexapod (parallel kinematic motion device that provides six degrees of freedom) and 3) combined hexapod and spindle. This provides a flexible platform for robot research on machining and performance improvement.
