Description
The GP Patient Survey (GPPS) seeks the views of over two and a half million people every year about their experience of GP services and NHS dentistry. It produces an extensive database that can be used by a wide range of stakeholders for developing services and policies to improve patient experience. The survey is sent out physically to patients in January and July.
This is a very high profile survey, which the Secretary of State, and other DH Ministers have a high level of interest in. It is the biggest survey of its kind, and is used to collect data on a wide range of issues in addition to its primary focus on GP practices. The results of the survey are an official statistic, and are used to inform the NHS England.
• The specific requirements for potential suppliers will be to manage and operate the GPPS, including:
o Questionnaire Redesign: To review the current survey and ensure the questions reflect priority and patient need (to ensure relevancy, quality and value)
o Sampling and Cognitive Testing of Questionnaire: Testing of the questionnaire for patient understanding, applicability and reliability etc.
o Fieldwork: Running the survey via post, managing the phone-line and translation survey in 13 languages (incl. British Sigh Language).
o Data analysis, communications and reporting: To collate, analyse and publish results at a national and local level, and make these available for NHS England and the public.
o Stakeholder management: To manage the telephone helpline services.
