Description

DANCOP is seeking to commission a research synthesis and/or meta-review of evaluation evidence. The overarching aim of the research is to establish the impact of DANCOP programmes of activity, utilising the extensive existing bank of evaluation data and reports produced by the various activity delivery teams. Data available is both quantitative and qualitative in nature.

Data sources include:
• Pre- and post-activity questionnaire responses (MS Excel format)
• Baseline and end of year questionnaire responses (MS Excel format)
• Anonymous post-activity questionnaire responses (MS Excel format)
• Circa 130 delivery evaluation reports (MS Word and PDF format)

It is important that the research utilises the evidence from the range of existing data sources available, which includes feedback from stakeholders such as delivery staff, teachers, partners, learners and parents. The research conclusions should directly address the aims of DANCOP and the Uni Connect programme (see section 2).

DANCOP evaluation has developed significantly in line with the programme, with various approaches utilised from 2017 to the Phase 2 (current) approach which is outlined in the Evaluation Strategy.

The research piece will directly address the requirement to contribute to a stronger evidence base around 'what works' in higher education outreach and strengthen evaluation practice in the sector.
