Description

The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is commissioning Culturally Appropriate Advocacy Training to raise awareness amongst advocacy providers and commissioners. This will support the Culturally Appropriate Advocacy Pilots (CAA Pilots) which will test different advocacy models to improve outcomes for people from Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) groups.
The aim of the Culturally Appropriate Advocacy Training is to raise awareness of culturally appropriate advocacy for providers and commissioners and test the feasibility of developing and delivering a culturally appropriate advocacy training programme. This will inform future long-term pilots commissioned by DHSC, subject to government funding.
Suppliers are expected to develop, deliver and evaluate two bespoke training and development programmes in culturally appropriate advocacy over a five-month period. Suppliers are expected to deliver:
Training programme A - this is for a total of three full days. It must be delivered for 1 day a month for three months for advocates included in the CAA Pilot
Training programme B - this is for a total of three hours. The Supplier can decide how the three hours are delivered, so long as a total of three hours are delivered over three months
An evaluation report of the training programme
