Description

***CANCELLED***The Department of Materials Science & Engineering at The University of Sheffield through the ECONOMISER programme funded by Innovate UK would like to entertain bids for a large hydraulic press for die pressing parts (up to 10cm diameter) at temperature between 300 and 350oC.

The equipment is for cold sintering of ceramics at temperatures <500 oC. The equipment is designed to apply a pressure to a ceramic powder which contains a liquid medium that gradually evaporates during the process as the die is heated. The partially dissolved powder then re-precipitates on the surface of the particle resulting in densification. It is linked to a range of projects within the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and will be used to generate outside work with companies interested in developing this technology. Target materials include, refractories, Li ion batteries, electroceramics and MW ceramics in telecommunications.

This is an open exercise. The ITT can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University`s e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield

If you have any questions or comments in relation to this tender they must be submitted via the In-tend system, this can be accessed at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield

Completed tenders must be returned through the same e-tendering system.
