Description

The Practice and Improvement Fund (PIF) aims to inspire the transformation of the adoption system and improve those services that adopted children and families rely on at a regional and national level. This programme is about working with the adoption sector to develop and disseminate excellent practice, develop innovative services which are responsive to the needs of the system and ensure that children who need adoption, and those who adopt them, have access to the best services - wherever they live.

The guide gives an overview of round 2 of the practice and improvement fund.

The following organisations can apply for this round:
• voluntary adoption agencies (VAAs)
• adoption support agencies (ASAs)
• regional adoption agencies (RAAs)
• other relevant voluntary sector organisations (VSOs)

Interested organisations should complete an Expression of Interest form, published alongside this guidance, providing high level information about their proposals. Expressions of Interest should be sent to adoption.PIF@education.gov.uk by noon on 16th January 2017.

Organisations who are successful at Expression of Interest stage will be invited to submit a full bid in the new year.

Grant awards will vary depending on the number and quality of proposals received. As a guide, we would not expect to fund a single bid over £500,000. We will consider funding over this amount if there is very clear potential for long-term impact and innovation.

The window for Expressions of Interest closes at noon on 16th January 2017.
