Description
The three elements of Fleet Transport, namely the Workshop/Stores, MOT Station and Service Reception, help the council to maintain its mandatory frontline services such as refuse collection, street cleansing, passenger transport, building services, parking enforcement, etc. \r
The service ensures that all vehicles comply with the current legislation and ensure the safety of not only its employees but also all other road users and residents within the Borough. \r
Fleet Transport also procure the fuel required to keep the fleet running 24/7/365 and also offers other ancillary services such as vehicle washing, management advice and buys/disposes of all new/old vehicles/plant. It is both a statutory and a preventative service as the fleet undergoes regular inspections and preventative maintenance.\r
All work is benchmarked to the DVSAs Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness and is obviously subject to the authorities own financial budgets whilst also working to the aims of its 2040 Vision.
