Description

Residential home required for M
M is a 15year old male M needs somewhere to live where he can feel safe and secure and have a period of stability
M has requested himself that he be bought back into residential care although M wishes to still be near his birth family and therefore we request that the Northeast region is still a priority
M is placed with his father under PWP regs S31 Care Order this was working well until Ms father became unwell and was unable to continue residing in the family home which has ultimately left M alone and in a position of sofa surfing between different family members and friends
In the past M has been placed in residential care outside of the Northeast and he has absconded back to family members and been missing for long periods of time so we know that this may not be a good option for him again
M needs to live somewhere where his carers understand his health and special care needs and can support him with his health needs as well as his emotional wellbeing
M is currently presenting as very unstable in his living arrangements and relationships with family members are becoming strained M has been presenting as unkempt and it is important M still has adults around him who can ensure his basic care needs are being met and ensure he knows he has support from others when needed
Although M can present as street wise and independent he is still only 15 years old and he has additional needs which can make him vulnerable
Prior to Ms father becoming unwell we know that M was settled and presented as happy within his family unit
Since he has not had the routine and structure within the family setting this has made him feel unsettled and we wish to see the old M back to himself where he has safe adults around him who can support his needs
