Description

A 4,200 square metre building for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) is being built at the University's Markeaton Street site. The centre, which is expected to be completed by mid-2017 will focus on real-world learning, combining functional teaching space with infrastructure designed for the specific needs of engineering and computing. The College of Engineering and Technology, University of Derby is expanding its Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM)/Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMS) teaching facilities and requires a modular Smart Factory system for the teaching of Industry 4.0 principles. The teaching will cover topics including, but not limited to:
o Assembly Line.
o Production, including Lean Principles.
o Logistics.
o Mechatronics.
o Automation.
The purpose of this tender is to secure the most economically advantageous modular Smart Factory System to update and expand on the current facilities therefore enhancing the student experience.

The presentation should specifically cover an overview of the individual modules requested, how the system could be expanded and any further information relevant for the effective and efficient operation of the system. It should also outline a delivery, commissioning and training schedule.
