Description

TfGM is seeking to procure a Supplier to deliver the Metrolink Communications Network Upgrade Project.

The scope of works will include:
• The renewal of "core stacks" (servers at Queens Road Metrolink depot and Trafford Metrolink depot with modern equivalents and the replacement of all 170 network switches).
• The design of the proposed network upgrade. The design shall be derived from the performance specification and outline conceptual design previously undertaken.
• Production of technical strategies, quality and design management plans
• The procurement, configuration and installation of new network switches, associated cabling and terminations for each stop.
• The procurement, configuration and installation of new core stack servers, associated network software and hardware
• The procurement, configuration and installation of new security firewalls for the new network
• The works will including civils enabling work which include minor de-vegetation works where required, Installation of concrete troughing and 3 new Under Track Crossings (UTX's)
• Installation and Renewal of life expired fibre optic cabling on Altrincham, Bury, Eccles, and City Centre Lines.
• This comprises approximately 30km on the Bury lines, 27Km on Altrincham Lines, 11Km on the Eccles lines and 2Km on the City Centre line, to address network resilience issues and single points of failure.
• Full and detailed testing and commissioning of the new network.
