Description

The project consists of the reconstruction/restoration of footpaths on Horton Country
Park belonging to Epsom and Ewell Borough Council. Over the years the existing
ride surfaces have degraded. The surface of the rides are covered with a variety of
lime scalping's or crushed asphalt.
We refer to drawing Horton-001, which should be read in conjunction with the
Schedule of Works. The drawing annotates three paths, coloured coded in Magenta,
Brown and Green which are all to be included for restoration.
Horton Country Park is a Local Nature Reserve and all the paths to be restored are
public bridleways where diversions will be in operation. Therefore all work and
vehicle movements must be carried out with due care to the grounds and also to the
public using them, adhering to the requirement of the Natural England consent for
the works. The site is accessed from Horton Country Park car park off Horton Lane,
Epsom, (51°20'36.4"N 0°17'27.5"W). There are various possible locations within the
site for a compound(s) and for the storing of surfacing materials. All materials are to
be stored in a designated area within the compound(s) and then transported to the
work area by means of a dumper.
Following the Works, the Contractor should also allow for repair and making good of
the area used for storage of path surfacing and plant.
