Description

The Mental Wealth Academy (MWA) provides non-clinical support to 16-25-year-olds with mild-moderate mental health needs, a priority group in Oxfordshire who were identified as requiring support in the latest Mental Wellbeing Needs Assessment, and who had been further disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Transitions between child and adult mental health services was highlighted as a key issue in the Oxfordshire's latest CAMHS Transformation Plan.

The MWA supports key public health priorities related to reducing health inequalities focusing specifically on children and young people's mental health and wellbeing. It supports young people who fall between the gaps of children and adults' services who may not meet higher thresholds into adults' mental health services or be on long waiting lists, unable to access the mental health support they need
