Description

Birmingham completed a city-wide heat mapping and masterplanning study in 2014. The study identified 21 potential heat network locations, including the Langley and Peddimore development sites located in the Sutton Coldfield area.
The Langley Sustainable Urban Extension will provide approximately 6,000 new homes. Its vision is to be an exemplar sustainable development, with facilities including primary and secondary schools, retail and healthcare.

Project Aim:
• Review the previous energy mapping study of the proposed area and update using latest available information to identify potentially useful heating, cooling and power demand loads and any existing and proposed new heat supply opportunities.
• Use the outputs of energy mapping to inform the development of an energy masterplan for the proposed area encompassing the short and long term, and which identifies, evaluates, and prioritises any potential DH scheme opportunities.
• Identify an initial core scheme and full potential scheme over the long term together with potential phasing, timeline, key dependencies and constraints.

The successful bidder will need to provide written evidence of the following:

• Langley & Peddimore Masterplanning Report including an Executive Summary which presents the results of the high level technical and economic appraisal, and summarises engagement with, and the interests of, key stakeholders. Langley & Peddimore Masterplanning presentation suitable as a summary of the key findings and recommended next steps. The consultant will be required to deliver the presentation, and help facilitate a discussion session with key stakeholders.
• Risks and Issues Registers for the identified projects including potential customer risks, supplied as a separate Excel document as per HNDU template that can be updated as projects progress.
• Data Register - all the raw data used to produce the reports
