Description

Sheffield's Working is designed to complement other programmes, including the national Work & Health Programme, pilot programmes such as Working Win and ESF provision being developed across Sheffield City Region. Our aim is, eventually, to join up all our provision into an integrated local employment service as part of Sheffield City Region's strategic vision to create an holistic work, health and skills 'ecosystem.'

Sheffield's delivery is expected to inform and influence some of the city region delivery and in turn to be informed and enhanced by city region developments, such as diagnostic assessments. The desired features of delivery to support the Sheffield City Region vision are:
• Simplified referrals routes, using existing referral routes as appropriate and including a single point of contact for all employment programmes
• Diagnostic assessment of needs, barriers and propensity towards long-term unemployment to identify the most appropriate support
• Whole-person approach delivered by intensive keyworker support - focused on getting people quickly into appropriate, sustained employment with ongoing support, tailored to individuals' circumstances
• An integrated package of support in the right sequence and the right combination to meet the individual's health, housing, advice and skills needs
• Financial Integration to support and drive service integration
• Paying for performance: incentivising sustained quality job outcomes
• Employer engagement and support
• In-work support for both the employer and employee to make work sustainable
• New ways to access health support - particularly in relation to mental health - for people out of work
• A continuous test and learn approach using ongoing evaluation to improve delivery and performance
