Description
Norfolk County Council is seeking to procure a service which is aimed at meeting two principal objectives within the National strategy: to reduce the suicide rate in the general population and provide better information and support for those bereaved or affected by suicide. The procurement will be delivering against Public Health and the National strategy for Suicide Prevention priorities with agreed targets and deliverables.
It is important to support individuals, families and communities who have been affected by suicide. For this 'postvention' element of our work, we want to improve the way that we support people across Norfolk who have been bereaved or directly affected by suicide, with timely support and information. The delivery partner will support the postvention activities developed by, with, or for people who have been bereaved by suicide, to support their recovery and to prevent adverse outcomes, including suicide and suicidal ideation. The focus of this service is to deliver a suicide bereavement support service, which needs to be flexible to allow for support to be accessed more than once. This could include one-to-one counselling, support groups and online forums. Flexibility is important due to the fact there could be many triggers of grief including anniversaries and future bereavements.
The contract will be a multi-year opportunity working in close partnership with the Local Authority delivering a bereavement support service across Norfolk.
