Description

The aim of this research is to produce a qualitative and quantitative analysis of cases resulting in doctors being suspended or erased from the medical register to highlight key themes, segments and commonalities, including identifying any problems that ultimately resulted in doctors being sanctioned that could potentially be predictable.
The research will help us better understand the types of problems that result in serious outcomes and will provide contextual information and short vignettes that illustrate in layman's terms the seriousness of cases that lead to suspension or erasure for inclusion in our 2015 State of medical education and practice in the UK report.
