Description

Background
The National School of Healthcare Science (NSHCS) is responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation and ongoing delivery of training and education programmes for Healthcare Science across the UK. As part of this role, the NSHCS runs a number of large scale, complex events each year which range from national interviews for selection of trainees onto programmes, induction events to introduce new trainees to their training and high stakes exit examinations to determine fitness to practice of trainees at the end of their training.

The detail of the specific events required are set out Appendix 1 of the ITT documentation which can be found at HEE's Procurement Portal - ProContract Due North (link to the portal can be found within the Additional Details section).

Further information on the role and purpose of the School is available via the School's website:
http://www.nshcs.hee.nhs.uk/

Rationale for procurement
The scope and complexity of the events as well as the broader work of the school are such that substantive resources available are not sufficient to enable delivery of these events. Additional support at specific points in the year is therefore required to ensure all events are delivered to the required timescales and standards.

Aims and deliverables
The School is seeking to contract with a provider who can offer appropriate services to support the delivery of these events. This will include:
- Provide sufficiently skilled and experienced staff to attend events who can meet the requirements outlined in the specification. Staff should be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and communication skills and conduct themselves in a professional and appropriate manner at all times
- Provide the number of staff as outlined in the specification on all days where the event is taking place.
- That staff are willing and able to travel to events nationally and potentially to remain on site for one or more days to ensure delivery of the event
- That staff are willing to receive appropriate training from School staff in the management of the events, undertaking instruction to ensure required standards of the event are met
- Provision of administrative services where required to facilitate preparation and production of appropriate event paperwork
- Provide event advice where required
- Provide online or digital systems where required to support delivery of the event - e.g., registration of delegates etc.

Delivery Timetable
The events run throughout the year at agreed points as outlined in appendix 1 The contract should be awarded no later than mid March 2019 and bidders should be able to be in a position to support the first event from 1st April 2019.

Scope
In addition to aims and deliverables above:
• To provide robust and reliable event support ensuring that suitably qualified and knowledgeable staff are available within the required timescales
