Description
'Plymouth City Council is tendering on behalf of its partners, Plymouth University, Southwest Film and Television Archive and the Southwest Image Bank for the provision of exhibition design services for Plymouth International History Centre. Plymouth City Council and its partners have recently obtained a Round 1 pass from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for the Plymouth International History Centre (PIHC). The primary objective of the PIHC is to provide an entirely new and exciting visitor experience and service to share the stories and collections of Plymouth and its people with the world. This will be achieved by bringing together the collections of Plymouth City Council's Arts and Heritage Service and the local studies and reference libraries, the Southwest Film and Television Archive and the Southwest Image Bank into 2 grade 2 listed buildings. The buildings are the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery, Central Library buildings and St Luke's Church. We now wish to appoint Exhibition Designers to work with our Technical and Design Team, our construction contractor undertaking the redevelopment, project team, users and experts to produce and implement a Masterplan and detailed interpretation plan through RIBA stages 2 to 7 inclusive, subject to Round 2 HLF funding approval. Under this contract the contractors and their supply chains will be required to actively participate in the achievement of the Contracting Authority's social/economic/environmental objectives. Accordingly, contract documents may relate to social/economic/environmental considerations. Please register your interest in this opportunity using the facility on www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk';
