Description
Ditton Park Academy are seeking a suitable contractor to carry out refurbishment of the first floor (west wing), install an external staircase and an external modular toilet unit at their existing temporary accommodation Wellington Street, Slough. In addition to this an electrical mains upgrade must be completed for the school to work off a permanent electrical supply.
The Contractor will be procured on a single-stage full design and build basis. The works need to be completed by end of July 2016.
A full planning application has been submitted in March 2016 by the employers Technical Advisors.
The Contractor will be expected to fulfil any obligations set out in the planning notice which is expected to be received the beginning of May. The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement, and the contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: Qualitative assessment (30%) / Quantitative assessment (70%).
Ditton Park Academy, occupy the ground floor and first floor (east wing) of the building and are now looking to refurbish the west wing to accommodate 5 teaching spaces, three offices, an LRC with break out, external modular toilet unit, an external staircase and electrical mains upgrade.

The school have agreed the building layout, and design information has been produced to RIBA stage 2. The contractor under the JCT Design and Build 2011 with contractors design and Education Funding Agency Schedule of Accommodation must take the designs forward and deliver the scheme as set out above.
