Description
NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI) Health and Justice Specialised Commissioning team London Region would like to invite interested and suitably qualified providers, which may include individual clinicians, to attend a Market Engagement Event for the Clinical Reviewer Framework (CRF).
The Events will provide:
- An overview of the Clinical Reviewer role and an introduction to the CRF;
- Details of the anticipated contract type, length and particular conditions;
- An overview of the proposed commissioning approach and Lotting strategy;
- An overview of the procurement process;
- And an opportunity to ask questions regarding the CRF and its procurement.
The Health & Justice London team are responsible for appointing independent Clinical Reviewers to Prison and Probation Ombudsman investigations when a death occurs within the London secure estate.
The London secure estate includes seven adult prisons, one young offenders' institution, the two Heathrow Immigration Removal Centres and London courts. The CRF will be the mechanism by which the team appoint Reviewers.
The role of a Clinical Reviewer is to examine the clinical care provided to the deceased whilst in custody, and to determine whether the care was equivalent, in accordance with national guidance, standards and local policy, to the care that an individual could expect to receive in the community.
Further publicly available information about the CRF and procurement can be found in the links section at the bottom of this page.

For the purposes of this tender, NHS England and NHS Improvement (NHSEI) should be considered 'the Authority'.
Please note we will be recording both events.
We will publish the recording of the event held on Tuesday 08 September (excluding the Q&A session) on this Contracts Finder Advert after the event has taken place.
Recording of the Q&A sessions is to ensure that we have captured all questions and answers and any other comments. Once we have completed the write-up, the recordings of the Q&As will be deleted.
We will also publish any question and answer responses in writing prior to initiation of the procurement itself.
You are requested to note that the "closing date" (04 September) contained in this advert refers to registration deadline for the market engagement event (and not the tender opportunity).
Prospective Bidders are free to select an event time of their choosing, but acknowledge that the Authority may, at its sole discretion, reduce the number of events dependent on response levels. i.e. if one event is significantly undersubscribed to the point where it is impractical to proceed.
