Description
Transport for the West Midlands (TfWM) through the WMCA (West Midlands Combined Authority) is looking to procure a suitable contractor to carry out highways and civils works for the following schemes within the Birmingham area of the West Midlands:
- Harborne Road Safety Measures
- QE Bus Priority
- Alcester Road Route Revitalisation.
The Harborne Road Safety Measures scheme consists of three individual sites. The QE Bus Priority scheme includes the introduction of a new bus lane along New Fosse Way and Hospital Lane to the Queen Elisabeth Hospital (Selly Oak). The Alcester Road Route Revitalisation scheme consists of the introduction of a new bus lane and modifications to the existing bus lane and traffic land widths along Highgate Middleway, Moseley Road and Alcester Road.
It is envisaged that the contract will be awarded on the basis of Early Contractor Involvement where the successful contractor will undertake any design required for each location and then, subject to agreement, the construction. The WMCA reserves the right to terminate the contract after the design is completed if costs for the construction stage prove to be prohibitive and may then revisit the market.
The WMCA expects to publish the Invitation to Tender documents on BravoSolution, its e-tendering portal, around 30/09/19.
